We are not our Emotions

You want to live up to your desired slender image and go on a diet, -again. By now you are probably able to write your own book about weight loss, after having tried all diets under the sun. You know how to exercise. Why has it then been such a struggle taking off the desired pounds and further more to keep them off?

Yes, you are in control of your rational mind and should just eat less and exercise more. Yet, established habits often don’t respond to logic. They operate at a deeper unconscious level of the mind, at which you have perceived the need to overeat in the first place. Otherwise you simply would not have gained weight.
Our thinking and habits influence directly our physical health including overweight and

obesity. Once we identify with our body we reinforce our mind that lead to our overweight.
If our approaches have not been successful in the past, it is time for a change. Albert Einstein reportedly said:” You can only find the solution to a problem with a different mindset than when the problem occurred. Doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different outcome, is the definition of insanity.”

A diet can only show long term success if combined with shedding light on your deeply ingrained and often not obvious beliefs and behaviors. We can empower our mind and establish a new lifestyle with new habits that shape both, mind and body. You have the power to respond to anxiety or sadness not with sweets but with physical activities that make you feel alive and let you live up to the life you are meant to live.
